The second day of the District Conference for Rotary International District 2700 was held at Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall on Sunday, April 14. A booth was set up to introduce the International Youth Exchange program, showcasing panels with stories from past exchange students. At the entrance of the convention hall, a fundraising event was held, gathering funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief, and the recent earthquake off the east coast of Taiwan.

April’s orientation featured an all-you-can-eat BBQ and sweets event at Cafe Kano Hachi Honey Garden, Yame City, fostering exchanges among participants and ending with a lively karaoke contest.

On March 16th, an orientation and the 1st Japanese Speech Contest were hosted in Tosu City, with Finnish participant Selina Hakola winning for her speech on cultural clash.

Participated in the Omuta International Exchange Tea Party

We participated in the 12th International Exchange Experience Tea Ceremony held in Omuta, Japan.
After watching a video in English on the history, culture, and manners of the tea ceremony, the students were divided into two groups and learned how to make and drink tea, and also enjoyed a cup of thin tea in a separate room.
Thank you to the people of Omuta for allowing our exchange students to experience traditional Japanese culture.

Kyushu 4district Joint Public Image Improvement Project in Gokoku Shrine Fukuoka 2023

Participated in the International Rotary Kyushu Four-District Joint Public Image Enhancement Project on October 28 at Fukuoka Gokoku Shrine. The event featured a booth by the District 2700 International Youth Exchange Committee. With good weather, attendees had the opportunity to learn about various Rotary projects, including “End Polio Now,” through PR booths, markets, and food trucks. The event also included a lecture by Mr. Seishi Sakamoto, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hoshizaki Corporation.
