Participated in the District Conference

The second day of the District Conference for Rotary International District 2700 was held at Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall on Sunday, April 14. A booth was set up to introduce the International Youth Exchange program, showcasing panels with stories from past exchange students. At the entrance of the convention hall, a fundraising event was held, gathering funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief, and the recent earthquake off the east coast of Taiwan.

Participated in the Omuta International Exchange Tea Party

We participated in the 12th International Exchange Experience Tea Ceremony held in Omuta, Japan.
After watching a video in English on the history, culture, and manners of the tea ceremony, the students were divided into two groups and learned how to make and drink tea, and also enjoyed a cup of thin tea in a separate room.
Thank you to the people of Omuta for allowing our exchange students to experience traditional Japanese culture.

We held January 2024 orientation.

Regular orientation for January was held
1/22 January Orientation was held at Clio Court Hakata.
Outbound participants were given application confirmation and English language education, while inbound participants were given Japanese language education, etc.
On the morning of the orientation, Abby arrived from Australia. It was a lively orientation.

For Outbound students, it is finally the beginning of their study abroad year. We are now in the final stages of the paperwork and application process.

December Orientation and Christmas Party were held

On Saturday, December 16, we held our first monthly orientation and Christmas party with food in four years at Fukuoka Sun Palace. Inbound provided Japanese language instruction, made New Year’s cards, and practiced Christmas party entertainment. Outbound, with the addition of additional accepted members, created applications and practiced Christmas party entertainment. After that, 22-23 Outboud KIYOMI , who was absent due to illness on the day of the presentation and could not report on his return to Japan, gave a report on his return to Japan, and we had a fun day with a Christmas party at a different venue.

November Orientation and Tosu Training Camp were held

From November 18 to 19 in Tosu City, the annual November Orientation and Tosu Training Camp took place. On the first day, participants divided into IN and OUT groups for language education and application creation. After dinner, joint activities, led by ROTEX, promoted interaction. The second day featured sports and recreational activities at the newly established Salonpas® Arena, followed by the completion of remaining orientation programs in the afternoon.

We went on a trip to Kagoshima

This year, the Kyushu Four-District Joint IN Kagoshima Training Trip took place on 11/25-26, gathering participants from all four districts. Held for the first time in four years due to the pandemic, the event featured visits to iconic sites like the Chiran Special Attack Peace Museum and sand steaming hot springs in Ibusuki. On the second day, activities included creating accessories with Satsuma Kiriko glass, archery experiences, and a ferry trip to Sakurajima, providing a learning and experiential journey through Kagoshima’s history and culture.
